Note

Since I only had two weeks to work on this project, I wanted to create a short and simple 2D platformer focused on a core movement mechanic for the player.  Taking some inspiration from the Super Mario Bros. games, I decided on the ground pound/bouncing as the core mechanic, and then started to design the levels with challenges based around the mechanic's strengths and weaknesses.  I also got the chance to practice creating the sprites for the game, and I am happy with the outcome for this project. If I had more time to work on this project I would work on fixing some bugs and adding more polish to the game, as well as creating my own sounds and music.

I think the game had an interesting concept, though there were some technical difficulties that made it a bit difficult to fully assess. I think something that would be beneficial to the game is to tweak/fix the function that allows you to press the jump button again to bounce upward.

So sick! The art for the game is so cute, and the level design is fun and challenging. I was having trouble with the jumping mechanic, but I think that was a skill issue lol. The thorns/timing was a great addition/challenge. Super cool

this looks professional and great! The art and gameplay feels cohesive and well put together! I would solidly even pay money for this game

I really love the creativity in your games — the art, mechanics, and ideas are all really fun. The ground pound and bounce mechanics feel unique and give the platforming a fresh twist. I got a little stuck at the jumping parts, but I can see how skill and timing play a big role, and watching others navigate it helped me understand it better. The story aspect makes the game feel more engaging, and the levels with new obstacles and challenges kept it interesting. Overall, the combination of cute graphics, multiple mechanics, and thoughtful level design makes this a really enjoyable experience.

the game is super fun! honestly all the games and game work i have seen from you across the years have always been so impressive. no other criticism really, the art direction and progression of the game is quite flawless for a fun arcade game!

really fun game!! loved the graphics and the jumping mechanics were really fun!! -mary

i really liked the tutorials as i progressed in the game. the ground smashing and being able to break the blocks was really cool. the thorns also didn't appear again until the player left the thorns which i thought was nice for progression purposes lol. the jump boost was a little hard to time, but that's prolly just a skill issue on my part. sick game bro!

wow!! You had amazing graphics, a cute design, multiple levels, multiple mechanics including special moves such as ground pound AND new obstacles and enemies in each level! The animations are well done, I didn’t get to play it all but very impressive game!

Very good game!
The bounce mechanic was kind of fiddley if the player was touching a wall I found

holy cow

(what other feedback can I give like the art is crazy and the mechanics are slowly introduced making difficulty scale across the levels and learning the timing of bouncing is satisfying)

Awesome game! I had a great time playing! the sound effects are so well done, it's very satisfying to get a perfect bounce, and I love the little face he makes when you do
